Wood and glass paneled hallway

This hallway in a condo needed to be made both functional and aesthetically gratifying as a transition from living areas to the master suite. Double glass doors with sidelights of American Ash oppose two pairs of Ash closet doors framed in Ash panels. To separate these layouts with a ceiling that suggests continuity without requiring symmetry, the ceiling was rounded and framed in an angular Ash valence, and uplit with soffit lighting. The effect is that this short hallway is the central characteristic of the condo. Still a functional space to access storage and adjacent rooms, it now offers city views and daylight through the glass doors and sidelights. And at night this space illuminates softly from above, giving an altogether new impression, while displaying city night views through its glass panels.
